ABOUT ME

A Passion for Mirrors and Magic

From a young age, I've been captivated by the allure and mystery of mirrors. My fascination began when I started collecting picture mirrors from the 1970s at just 17, and over the years, I’ve gathered over 100 unique pieces. This collection fueled my desire to create my own mirrors, combining my love for glass with my artistic vision.

The Journey to Creation

My journey into the world of glass art began with learning to craft stained glass windows, a medium that has always held a special place in my heart. Driven by this passion, I decided to teach myself the intricate process of mirror-making. I ordered the necessary chemicals, dove into experimentation, and honed my craft, developing a technique that blends screen printing with mirroring and surface distressing, resulting in truly unique statement pieces.

The Magic Behind the Name

The inspiration for Kill Medusa Mirrors is steeped in mythology and storytelling. I envisioned mirrors so powerful and enchanting that they could even turn Medusa herself to stone. This mythological reference not only captures the magical essence of my work but also inspired the name of my brand. I had considered calling it the Southern Oracle, drawn from "The NeverEnding Story" for its connection to self-discovery, but I found that name was already heavily used.

MY Mission

At Kill Medusa Mirrors, I’m dedicated to creating mirrors that transcend mere functionality. Each piece I craft is a potent blend of history, imagination, and craftsmanship, designed to captivate and inspire. By upcycling and reusing glass and frames wherever possible, I breathe new life into every creation, honoring the timeless beauty and endless recyclability of glass.
